Lightning struck the Roy Axtell
barn in two places during the elec
trical storm Friday afternoon. One
bolt went through the roof, splinter
ing the side of thé bam and made
kindling of large foundation timbers
under the manger. Another holt went
through the roof over the loft door, I
followed down the wail and separated,
part continuing to the ground and part
following a wire to tha opposite side
of the manger from the first mention-1
ed where it proceeded to manufacture
more kindling. The editor saw the
ightning hit the barn and noticed dis
tinctly the resulting smoke and dust.
The barn was empty and no other
damage resulted.
