One brother, John McDermid of Wasco, Oregon; two sisters, Mary McCarl and Elisabeth Cameron of Colling wood, Canada, and a number of nieces and nephews survive him. He was a mem of L ib e rty .” ber of the Presbyterian church, hav ing joined the Moro church of that denomination a number of years ago. Nearly all the men were out and much inter e s t was taken in thia work. Every one realized the importance of cooper ation and the ways in which the farm- |er is benefited by working with hia neighbors to achieve the results which he longs to get but has never been able to realize. It seemed to be the (desire of every man present to get away from the tendency to follow the path of least resistance in farming and the “ I ’ll do my part” spirit was plainly shown. V. H. Smith, presi dent of WasvO Farm Bureau, was present and gave some of his splendid ideas. C. C. Calkins also assisted in organizing and arranging committees. Hans Thompson was elected president and Dell Wright secretary.
