Mr and Mrs William Kennedy of Walla Walla came last week end to visit a few days with their son, Bob Kennedy and fam ily here. M rs Louis Sather is home a- gain from the hospital after an operation on her eyes which, she says, was successful and she can see better now. Mr. and Mrs. John Brownlie of Portland came up last week to do some work around her place here and visit with her sons, the Thompson boys, and their fami lies. They returned home Monday Mr and Mrs Max Belshe were FEBRUARY-1 6 - 2 3 in Portland last week end to do some business and visiting. Miss Doris Pearson came over from Selah, Washington where MORO TH E dalles she is teaching to spend the week end with the Lynn Hamptons with whom the stayed when she was a teacher here. Mr and Mrs Charley Powell drove up from Portland Friday of last week for an early look at the wheat crop. Mr and Mrs Bob Bernards and children left Thursday for Mt. Angel to visit her mother, Mrs Alois Keber until Tuesday when they returned home. Nearly everybody who had wheels under them went to Hep pner Saturday night to see the local hasketeers defeat the Mor row county boys. The local boast is that there were about as many Sherman countians as na tive at the game. - Keck McKean and Irving Hart went to Portland Monday night to attend the Hayward dinner at which athletes were given awards for accomplishments dur ing the year. Keck was one of the judges of the contests. Paul Dietzel of the Army was the speaker at the Portland Univer sity auditorium. Mr and Mrs Harry Dutton 'were up from Portland Saturday to visit with her sister, Mrs J.K. McKean and family. David Tyler, five year old son of Mr and Mrs Ed Tyler, is back in school again after 11 days in a hospital with an unidentified virus.
