locked up one night last week
and was sitting at his bar when
three men came in demanding
something to drink. It was past
hours and George said “No”. So
the men started beating him not
knowing or not caring that he
was recently out of the hospital
after a serious operation. In the
end the men began quarreling
among themselves and quit l>eat-
ing George then left without any
thing to drink.
Mr and Mrs William Kennedy
of Walla Walla came last week
end to visit a few days with
their son, Bob Kennedy and fam
ily here.
M rs Louis Sather is home a-
gain from the hospital after an
operation on her eyes which, she
says, was successful and she can
see better now.
Mr. and Mrs. John Brownlie of
Portland came up last week to
do some work around her place
here and visit with her sons, the
Thompson boys, and their fami
lies. They returned home Monday

Keck McKean and Irving Hart
went to Portland Monday night
to attend the Hayward dinner
at which athletes were given
awards for accomplishments dur
ing the year. Keck was one of
the judges of the contests. Paul
Dietzel of the Army was the
speaker at the Portland Univer
sity auditorium.
Mr and Mrs Harry Dutton 'were
up from Portland Saturday to
visit with her sister, Mrs J.K.
McKean and family.
David Tyler, five year old son
of Mr and Mrs Ed Tyler, is back
in school again after 11 days in
a hospital with an unidentified
virus.
