September 30 the (high school girls went to Wfcsco for a practice volleyball game. October 6 the Was co girls came to Rufus for a prac tice game. They hope to make a team by uniting the two schools, as neither school has enough girls in the high school for a team. Due to the fact that tihe Rufus high has no freshmen this year the upper classmen will have to forget the Idea of initiating any one this year. This Is the first year in a long time that Rufus didn’t have any incoming 8th graders. The one’s that graduated have either moved to other towns or are attending school elsewhere. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Kingsland moved back to tihelr home in Port land Wednesday. Kingsland has been boss of building the guard rails and setting the sight posts along highway 30 from Rufus to The Dalles. The job took three months to complete and the work had Its hardships. The next meeting is to be with Mrs. Leo Watkins with Mrs. Funk as co hostess.
