meeting. All county schools will
be closed next Monday and Tues­

Clarence Mersinger is in a hos­

having gone down last week.

volleyball game. The team this

tice game. They hope to make a
team by uniting the two schools,
as neither school has enough
girls in the high school for a team.
Due to the fact that tihe Rufus
high has no freshmen this year
the upper classmen will have to
forget the Idea of initiating any
one this year. This Is the first
year in a long time that Rufus
didn’t have any incoming 8th
graders. The one’s that graduated
have either moved to other towns
or are attending school elsewhere.
Mr. and Mrs. Milton Kingsland
moved back to tihelr home in Port­
land Wednesday. Kingsland has
been boss of building the guard
rails and setting the sight posts
along highway 30 from Rufus to
The Dalles. The job took three
months to complete and the work
