Mrs Hooper held high, Mrs. Nell Swick second and Mrs. Don Smith low. Members enjoying the evening were Mrs. W alter Da vis, Mr». C. K. Andersen, Mrs. Don Smith, Mrs. Frank Ketter, Mrs. Kendrick Dunlap, Mrs. Paul Sy- ron, Mr». John Rust and Mrs. Hooper. Guests included Mrs. Joe Bibby, Mrs. Nell Swick, Mrs. Al fred K w k and Mrs. Bob Marvin of Moro. The hostess served refresh ments at the close of the evening. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Ulagg were business visitors in The Dalles Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Syron spent the weekend at Seaside. Linda Perrlgo of Astoria, who Is visiting her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Frank T. Bayer, celebra ted her 11th birthday Saturday when 'her grandm other and her aunt, Mrs. Claud1 Bayer, invited her friends and relatives in for the afternoon at the Claud Bayer home. Enjoying the afternoon were Mrs. H arry Stark and dau ghters, Ixirraine and Ix>u Ann, Mrs. H. N. Itiggs and daughters, Peggy and Marjorie, Mrs. Willard Rolfe and children, Danny and Sheri, John Kelly, Bob Sant, Ju lia and Byron Bayer, Alfa Jean and Lots Payne and David and Klin Bayer. The time w yt spent playing games and after Linda o|>ened 'her gifts, refreshm ents of birthday cake, Ice cream and punch were served. Mrs. Herman Peters was host ess to the bridge club at her home Thursday with a 1:30 dessert luncheon followed by bridge at three tables. Mrs. Eben Kee held high, Mi's. A rt Bibby second and Mrs. Donald Clodfelter low. Mrs. Aifreu Kock won the traveling prize. O thers enjoying the after noon were Mrs. W alter Davis, Mrs. Ted Kelly, Mr*. A. A. Dunlap, Mrs. Nell Sw kk, Mrs. Harold Ea- kin, Mrs. A. F. Balzer and Mrs. Ixjy Cochran of Moro. Mr. and Mrs. John Rust went to Fairview Friday where they were overnight guests of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Perry. They went to Portland Saturday to visit their son in law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Rex Ridhards. Sunday they all attended the Hayes family re union held at Clarksville park, re turning home that evening. Mr. and Mrs. H. O. Dugger w ent to Clarksville Sunday to attend the Hayes reunion. Hollis Marple of Oregon City spent last weekend as a guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Cox. Mrs. A1 Roberts and daughter, Linda, of Corvallis spent a week recently vistlng her parents Mr. and Mrs. Fred Cox. Mr. Roberts and sons came Saturday, all re turned home Sunday. Mrs. Alfred Payne and daugh- ghterters, Alfa Jean, Lois and Mrs. Hal Gomez and her daughter, Su zanne from Nevada and Mona Ea- kin were business visitors in The Dalles Monday. Mrs. Gordon Lemley and child ren, Kenneth and Janice, and Miss Carolyn I/emley, drove to Cannon Beach Friday to spend several days visiting her jxarents, Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Crews. Mr, and Mrs. Frank E. Bayer and children, Byron and Helen, took Mrs. Sam Stark to Bend Sun day where she was m et by Mrs. Josephine P ark h u rst of Roseburg, and they left on a trip to El Dora do Springs, Mo., w here they will spend a month visiting relatives. Mrs. Robert Schilling and child ren are enjoying several weeks vacation at Oceanlake. Mr. Schill ing went down Saturday and re turned home Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Hal Gomez and daughter, Suzanne, arrived S atur day night from Ely, Nevada, to visit her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Payne and family. Mr. and Mrs. W illard B arnett and her m other Mrs. O. N. Rug gles were business visitors in Portland Tuesday and W ednes day. H arry Stark took his father, Sam Stark, to Klam ath Falls F ri day where he took the train for Hollydale, Calif., to visit his son and daughter in law, Mr. and Mrs. Hadley Stark. Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Balzer spent Sunday visiting Mr. and Mrs. Gus H artm ann at Wasco. Mr. and Mrs. Don Earl are the parents of a son born Sunday, July 17, at The Dalles hospital. The baby weighed 7 lbs and 14 oz and was named Donald Steven. G randparents are Mr. and Mrs. James Earl of Grass Valley and Mr. and Mrs. Ixxyd Gooch of Car lisle, Iowa. H erm an Peters came home from Goldendale and spent the week end here with his family. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Peters Jr. of Hood- River spent the weekend here with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Herman Peters. Mr. and Mrs. Arch Cantrall drove to Portland Friday on bu siness returning Sunday. Patrick McHugh left by United Airlines July 13 on a trip to Ire land to visit relatives and friends. He will visit in England before returning home. Wendell Clodfelter is spending several weeks in Hood River and Dee with his sisters, Mrs. Donald Marsh and family and Mrs. Bruce Eccles and family. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace May went to Hood River Saturday and spent the weekend visiting her brothers, William W alter and Mr. and Mrs. Andy Water. Mrs. Donald von Borstel and children drove to Seaside T h u rs day and spent until Sunday at the beadh. Mr. and Mrs. Bob King and family were also vacationing at the 'beach. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Oids and son Robin went to the beach T hurs day for a few days and on to Mc Coy to visit his brother in law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Bar nett were dinner guests and spent the afternoon Saturday at the H ar old Owens home. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Blagg took their son, Kenneth to The Dalles Sunday w here he left with The Dalles boys for the Junior Boys ('am p at Silver ( ’reek Falls to spend a week.
