Howard Cushman, field man for soil conservation, will be here next week from Wednesday on, to look over fertilizer trials and conservation plots. Mrs. Maggie Barnum returned Monday evening by stage from Stevenson, Washington where she visited several days with her grand daughter, Mrs. Bob Carpen ter and family. Stan Drew, who managed the erection of the first McNary-Mau- pin electric line through the coun ty, is here again to manage the building of the second. Parker Schram has the con tract and has begun work which is estimated to require 250 days whereas the other contract had a time limit of 310 days. Material has been stored at the lot in Kent. Mr. Drew will move his family to Moro as soon as he finds a house for them. Mr. and Mrs. George Mitchell were here Friday for a few hours while on their way home to Helix. They announced that their son, Tommy, will be married next Sun day to a girl from Umatilla coun ty.
