IU N I 3 0 , 1951 Price support program for the 1951 wheat and barley crop has been announced, says Ralph Busse, assistant secretary of the county PMA committee. Wheat price support at a national aver age of $2.18 per bushel for the 1951 crop compares to last year’s average of $1.99 per bushel, Bus se reports. Terminal market . price rates at Portland are $2.40. Sherman county rates have not been announced to date. Busse indicates freight rate reduction was $0.16 per bushel last year from Portland but some reports indicated this will be increased to $0.17. The price support foe the 1951 crop in accordance with appli- 90 percent of paritybu cable* legislative provisions is 90 percent of parity at the begin ning of the marketing year, July 1. July parity is $2.42 a bushel. For the same date last year the wheat prjee parity was $2.21 a bushel. Probably loan figures will be $2.23 or $2.24 per bushel. Due to change in warehouse charges, however, reduction of 10 cents per bushel will be made on the loan rate to cover expense bring ing the cash value to $2.13 o r $2.14. Farm storage loans will obtain this 10 cent per bushel, at time of loan application. The 1951 price support rate for barley in Shermlan county is $1.24 per bushel. The terminal market rate at Portland has been set at $1.37 per bushel.. »i.
