Balzer Mr and Mrs Bruce Alley and. children went to The Dalles Saturday to visit fiis mother, Mrs Ed Alley at the home of her sister, Mrs Gus Smith. She re turned home from Kansas where she spent several weeks with her daughter, Mrs Wayne Karnes and family. Mr. Alley* Is still in Kansas with his daugther. Mr and Mrs John Block and Mrs John Hays were business visitors in The Dalles Monday.’ Mr and Mrs Don Smith and son, Larry, went to The Dalles taking his mother, Mrs Gus Smith to Portland for medical attention. F. Schilling. Mrs John Engstrom accompanied him home for a visit. Duane Edwards went home with his father after spending three weeks with his grandparents. {Mr and Mrs John Block went to The Dafles last Monday and brought her mother, Mrs John Hays home after spending a few days with her daughter, Mrs Gus Smith. Everett and family of Portland, and his mother, Mrs Leo Everett of Ontario. Mrs Everett came home with the Cantrall’s to spend a few days. Mr and iMrs Hollis Marple and Mary Alice Miller of Oregon City came Thursday and spent sever al days at the home of Mr and Mrs Fred Cox. Mr and Mrs C. Kellogg of Portland arrived last Tuesday and spent the rest of the week visiting at the home of their son in law and daughter, Mr and Mrs Gene Reynolds. Deanna accompanied her grand parents home to spend a couple of -weeks. Quite a few have started har vesting and by the end of the week most will have started. The yield is pretty good so far. Bernard Martin took the first load of wheat to the new eleva tor. Harvesting was halted Tues day on account of the rain.
