Mrs. Link Meyers passed away at her h o m e ' in Wasco after a long illness last Thursday night. A brother, Earl Bozarth and wife from Canada, also her son, Lloyd and a daughter, Betty o f California were here for the funeral. Barbara Elliot of The • Dalles is visiting this week her chum, Dottle Steward, the daughter of Mr and Mrs Luther Steward. Mr and Mrs Alec Vane and two daughters Geraldine and Margaret have departed from Rufus for parts unknown. Vane who owned the Mobile station has sold his interests here and bought a trailer which he and his fam ily left in. The Vane’s came to Rufus early in the spring of 1948 from Portland. Several of the local people at tended the funeral of Mr. Rae burn which was held in - The Dalles Wednesday. Raeburn liv ed in this vicinity for m any years and owns property here. Eugene C. Eaton, master of Rufus grange, left Friday for the state grange session which w as held at Coos Bay this year.
