Dewey Thompson, Theodore Johnston, Tommy Thompson and Carrel Bennett were at Mlkkalo last Thursday night to attend a banker-farmer meeting for this district and eat some good gran ge cooking. Mr and Mrs A. Douma and Mr and Mrs G. Douma drove around by Tygh Valley and Shaniko Sunday to enjoy the sunshine. Ralph Brisbine left Monday for a visit with relatives in New berg and Hillsboro. Albert . John Koenig of Port land was jailed in Moro on a charge of non-support and was taken back to Multnomah county Tuesday by deputies from the sheriffs office there. to W. S. Powell and his daughter Mrs Opal Parkins left Sunday for San Francisco to take ship for their cruise around the world. Mrs R. C. Bylers was taken to the hospital Tuesday where it was found that she had two broken bones in her foot. She had broken them when she fell while working at her home in Moro. It is expected that she will not be walking about again for several weeks. Vern Arstill was in Portland Tuesday on business. Mr and Mrs F. Claude Step hens and Mrs Sadie Rich attend ed the Mt. Hood district conven tion at Dufur, Sunday, May 8, returning that evening. The con vention was well attended. .FRIDAY, MAY 20, 104» George M. Stambach of Pasa dena, California, was here this week to visit with Theodore Johnston. The men wegg room mates their senior year at Ore gon State college. Mr. Stambach is now an iris grower in Califor nia. Mr and Mrs Merrill Oveson and family were down from Pen dleton Sunday and Monday to let the children visit school for a day before the children disband fdr the summer. Word has been received here from Jonh DeMoss that P. Waldo Davis has been bedfast for over two weeks with a heart ailment. The little girl who was nam ed Dianne Marie weighed in at 7 lbs. 5 oz. The Macnabs’ also have a son. Grandparents are Mr and Mrs Zodrow of The Dalles and Mr and Mrs Ronald Macnab also of The Dalles. The Home Economics club en joyed a lawn party when Mrs Walt Morris with Mrs Luther Stewahi as co-hostess served lun cheon on the Morris lawn Thurs day afternoon, it was a grand day and Ada Dingle called the business meeting to order on the lawn. Roll call was answered by members telling of some famous mother. The secretary reported on the card sales to date.
