Balzer FRIDAY, OCTOBER, Grove where they visited his family and they also visited their daughter, Mrs Dick Ed wards and family at Leaburg, and another daughter, Mrs Wal ter Klindt and family at Eugene and a brother of Mrs Schilling’s at Creswell. They were gone a month. Mr and Mrs Ted Trimble and her mother, Mrs Lewis Olds motored to Prineville Sunday to visit Mrs Old’s brother, Fred Walker at the hospital. Mrs D. L. Reynolds and Mrs Gene Reynolds were business visitors in The Dalles Saturday. Mr and Mrs O. N. Ruggles had as their guests Sunday Mr and Mrs Kenneth Shannon and fam ily of Gresham. Mrs John Buether was hostess at a stork shower at her home Monday afternoon for Mrs Claud Bayer. A game of question and answers was played with Mrs Gene Reynolds and Mrs Bob Ax tell winning the prizes. The gifts were presented to Mrs Bayer who opened them for the plea sure of all.' Mr and Mrs Donald von Borstel and Mr and Mrs Gene Reynolds were dinner guests Sunday even ing after church at the home of Mr and Mrs B. C. Baumgartner. Mr and Mrs A. A. Dunlap re turned home Monday from Port land where Mr. Dunlap attended an infantile paralysis meeting. They were over nigtit guests Sun day at the home of their son. Kendrick Dunlap and family* in Carlton. Mr and Mrs John Buether have as their guests Mrs Tom Hammond and Mns J. Fitzgerald of Boston, Mass., who arrived here last week. Mrs Wallace Jtfav returned home Tuesdav from Hood River where she spent a week visiting her pajrnts, Mr and Mrs J. A Walter. Mr and Mrs John Buether and their houseguests, Mrs Tom Hammond and Mrs J. Fitzgerald motored to Powell Butte Wed nesday to visit their daughter, Mrs Francis Hammond and fam ily and to celebrate her birthday anniversary Mrs Hammond and 15, 1948 Mr and Mrs Bernard Martin and daughter, Deanna, and his mother, Mrs Jennie Martin of Moro, went to Portland Wednes day to attend the stock show. His mother and daughter, re turned home Friday with Mr and Mrs EJton Eakin who also at tended the stock show. Bernard entered the hospital Friday for a sinus operation leaving the hospital Sunday but has to re main there for medical treat ment for several days. Owen Eakin went to Portland Saturday to spend the weekend with his wife who is staying there until after her confinement. Her mother, Mrs Baker is with her having arrived here last week from Charlotte, North Car olina. Mr and Mrs Donald Martin and family of Moro were Sunday evening dinner guests at the home of Mr and Mrs Boyce Blay lock. Mr and Mrs J. W. Blagg were hosts at a dinner Sunday cele brating the 18th birthday anni versary of their daughter, Marie. Other guests were Mrs T. M. Rolfe, Mr and Mrs A. F. Balzer, and son, Clair, and Gerald Blagg. Olan Stark were business visitors Bruce Alley and son, Dick , Mrs W. D. Barnett and daugh in The Dalles one day last week.
