AUGUST 23, 1946 a FIXED PRICES It is reported from the school superintendent’s office that Sher man county school boards have been able to hire 20 teachers for the five Schools now operating. More are wanted. Educators have long considered 27 pupils to lie a normal teach ing load for a teacher under av erage conditions and some state money is distributed on that oa sis. That is probably not exces sive. On that basis the teaching force already contracted for this couny could conveniently handle 540 pupils. That is about twice the number who will register for school.
