Dr. Poley extracted a live tpid- er from Floyd Flett’s ear Thurs day afternoon after the insect had apparently holed up for the win ter. Floyd thought his ear ached from a wisdom tooth and applied to the dentist for relief first. Grass Valley ~ Woman Honored On Birthday John and Dick Reckman bought seven hundred head of sheep at Redmor.d the first of the week. M oro Grade School Gives Program by Claudine Thompson This week the volley ball games were a t Kent. The Moro boys team won by a score of 29-34. The girls team lost by the close score of 30-32. The Moro girls were ahead at the half but Kent gain:d in the second half to come out victorious. There was no school Thursdn' am | Friday of this week because of a teachers conference in T h' Da lies. This gives the students a long week end before the six week tests. The three days of this week were spent in busily review ing the m aterial cover.<1 at sch ,« during the first five weeks. The grade school held a shn program for Columbus day o- Wednesday afternoon. Each ropr gave a program . The first and second grades started with pieces given by David Moore, Donn** Kay Sparling and Wily K nighter Rose Marie Pierson, Darrie H nagin and Eugene Thompson ' - cited a series of poems. The 3rd and 4th grades gave a short skit about Columbus and his ideas on the shape of the world. Orren Schadowitz represented Columbus; Shaion Hennagin was captain of a Sailing boat and Douglas Engle- bretson was Columbus’ father. The rest of the class were sailors. The 5th and 6th grade program consisted of recitations and a song. Dale Thompson and Wayne Melzer recittd and Donnella Nelson gave reading. .The 7th and 8th grades gave a play, telling of the mutiny of Columbus’ crew ju st before America was found.
