Co. for alleged infringement of their right-of-way between this place and Ar lington, which has been in the courts since 1905, was brought to a close in Condon Tuesday noon. The trial was set to ap pear before Judge Bean in the court house Tuesday. An engi neer named Beel, who hacj in his possession maps and original da ta covering a part of the right-of-way, skipped out and gave them to the O. R. & N. Turn out and give the Club a boost At the regular meeting of the Board of Trustees last evening it was decided to buy the billiard table from the old commercial club who made them a very , flat tering offer, showing their good will and faith in the Club. It was also decided that it would be necessary to remodel the build ing to some extent in order to ac commodate the table which work will be commenced at once. A small charge per game will be made to the players, and it is thought that in this way the ta ble can be paid for in a much shorter time. The resignation from the Club of 0. C." Veatch, who is soon to go to Fossil, was accepted although much regret was expressed at losing a mem ber of Mr.'Veatch's standing. The Entertainment committee was instructed to make arrange ments for a reception to be given the members of the Club and their friends which will take place at the Clubhouse within a few weeks, it is thought on St Valentine's day. The applica tion of Walt Graves to become a member of the Club was favor ably reported. For the past five years the eyes of the eastern people have been turned to the west In no other locality have the people shown such a keen desire to come to a country where the climate is almost semi-tropical. 1 The words of Horace Greeley "Go west young 'man and grow up with the country", is the by word of the people who desire to seek their fortunes in a place of plenty. A people that are look ing for literature relating to the country which has set the hearts of all easten men aglow; a coun try to which they desire to come in order to avoid the rigors of the severe winters, is their wish. The West is on the tongue of nearly all eastern men. If they themselves have not seen it some of their friends have been here to see the wonderful opportuni ties which lie dormant to be tak en up by the men who will cast their lot among us, and labor for the fruits which nature has lav ished upon the western people so generously.'
