With this issue, the annual Christrrtas number, the Globe en deavors to show the real growth of the best county in the Central Oregon country Gilliam county, Ever since alkali plains and roll ing hills with their growth of bunchgrass and sage brush, then the home of the cattle men, be gan to be cultivated and their productiveness as a wheat soil discovered, the county has made great advances. The little trad ing posts which supplied the few inhabitants in former days have grown into thriving towns until today they are rich centers for a vast territory." The residents of the county are awakening to the fact that the resources of :this territory are vast and rich, they are learning to farm the rich soil under better methods which will result in crops of un told wealth, and have organized the Gilliam County Improvement Association to further the inter ests of the county, to advertise its real worth abroad and secure more people to help them farm and reap the golden harvest The county offers great oppor tunity to the.homeseeker and it will bear the investigation of every person looking forward to a more suitable and money-making home.
