VUlttng brother! ara re ejiwated to meet with aa. A warm welcome awaita you. The authorities at Washington have issued some very stringent orders against expectorating in post offices. Paragraph 11 of the rules formulated by the com mittee to prepare a plan for the prevention of tuberculosis in government offices and work shops, is as follows: "Do not spit on the floor; to do so may spread disease;" shall be prom inently posted in rooms, hallways corridors and lavatories in public buildings. Postmasters are in structed to put up the required notices, and if necessary shall call on the local authorities to enforce its provisions. Oregon and Washington were each given a hearing before President Roosevelt's Commis sion on Country life, and er pressed themselves as more than pleased with the co-operation they received in these two states. They were particularly fortunate in being enabled to meet the leading horticulturists on account of numerous fruit meetings at this season. The whole country is awaiting the Commission's report with gen uine interest That much good will result from the work, of the country life commission this caijer sincerely hopes. But it is still wandering why the commis sioners did not visit the country and the country towns instead of the large cities.
