Purvine returned tc this city last Friday from a twe months' visit in Salem with rel jtives. Mrs. Purvine attended the State fair before returning. The Ladies Aid Society of the Congregational church met at the home of Mrs. D. B. Thomas yesterday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. AI Moore return ed from Portland last Friday evening where they had been to look over property interests. They expect to make the Rose City their future home and will move next week. Mr. and Mrs. U. S. Carnine loft for a two weeks visit in Portland on last Saturday. Mr. Carnine expects to enjoy a rest since he has leased the Palace hotel. J. D. Estes, the contractor and builder, will finish the three buildings in Clem this week and expects to start Monday on the Monahan & Murtha ten-room house on their Rock Creek ranch. Mr. Estes is prepared to start in on any contract that may be brought to him. His work in the past in this vicinity will in sure the best and most satis factory recommendations. See him if you are thinking about building. Herbert Schilling, of Condon, who attended school here last year, is again in attendance at the Academy. Forest Grove News. G. E.
