Miss Lulu Adlard returned the first of the week from a visit in Portland. The Misses Ranney have moved into the cottage formerly occupied by George Weigel and family. Chas. underwood and wife were passengers on the incoming local from Portland last Saturday. C.S. Jerard of Hayden, Wn. is in town this week making arrangements for the building of a large barn on the Miller ranch north of town. Mark Portwood returned last Saturday evening after a week's stay"; in the Hose City during the festival Chas. Simpson, manager of the P. II. Stephenson store, reports a grand time during the Rose show in Portland. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Sanders and Miss Nellie Springston, of Lost Valley, were Condon visit ors on.Tuesday and Wednesday. Mrs. D. R. Tarkcr, of Condon, is vfoitmg at the home of' her parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. G. Pamian of Montavilla. Oregon Sanuay Journal. Jack Lancaster who formerly lived in Condon but who moved . to Central Point and more re . cently , of Rawhide,"' Was here this, week. Mr. Lancaster has aome rich holdings in tho new mining town. Herbert Schilling who has been attending Pacific University at Forest Grove returned home Monday evening. He was in Portland during a part of the Rose festival and enjoyed the the pageantry and rose displays. J. H. Foulkes and family who have been visiting the Amends' for some lime, left Monday morning for their home in Ohio. They were accompanied by Mrs. Slaughter and little son who are returning to their home in Texas. Mrs. Slaughter is a (laughter of Mrs. Amend. Frank Golden who went up into the Twin Fails country, re turned home last Friday. Frank was greatly taken up with that region and remained for the big drawing but was not one of the lucky persons. Fred Wheiman who holds tho second chair in the 0. K. Barber shop, drew 80 acres of choice land at the same drawing. The Globe has received con gratulations for the manner in which it handled the results of the election in its last issue. The table giving the official returns from this county called forth much favorable com ment The vote received by each candidate having opposition was given by precinct and proved interesting to politicians. The table will be valuable for future reference. E.' M. Larkin, the local agent for the Best Combined Harves ter, reports the sale of four big machines in this county.. Two harvesters , were taken off the cars at the local depot on Mon day, one going to Hugh Strick land and Hans West, the other to R.W. Fitz water. On Tuesday Mr. Larkin unloaded two at the Shuttler station, one for S. T. IBtanch & Sons and the other for J. L Chandler. Fred Mycra was among the Condonites who ' attended the Portland festival. Rev. T. F.
