D. B. Thomas was an Arling ton visitor on Monday. Nat Scott of Lone Kock was a visitor in Condon on Tuesday The latest reports from R. Asbaugh state that he is very much improved. Dr. and Mrs. Esson of The Dalles were Condon visitors the fist of the week. Steve Thomas, the Fossil stage driver, made a business trip to Portland the week. H. S. Rice, of Weigel & Rice, went to The Dalles on Monday to visit the home folks. Emmet Armstrong left Mon day to return at his home at Thermopolis, Wyoming. Mrs. Gonzales of Portland, nee Bertha McCulley, is spending the week in town with relatives. A $5,000 futurity stake for foals of 1908 has been put up ay the Oregon State Fair Associa tion. Floyd - Moore has rented the Frank Moore ranch, about three miles west of town, and is now one of the busy ranchers of Gil liam county. Mr. and Mrs, F. H. Robinson of lone attended the funeral of Mr. Robinson's brother, R. H. Robinson, last Friday. Mr. Robinson is one of the leading attorneys at lone. This office is in receipt of a package of garden seeds from Congressman Luis, it seems that everyone is receiving a package of seeds from Wash ington, D. C, and by the way it is almost time to plant them. L F. Roberts, deputy head consul of the Modern Woodmen of America, has returned from a visit to his home in Goldendale. During the past week he has se cured six new names for mem- bershipship to Condon Camp No. 10,425, who will be received at the meeting this evening. wm. Lavingston came up from Portland on Saturday to look after property interests in this city. He is at present work ing at the arpenter trade and keeps busy all the time, as there is great activity in the building line in the city. Mr. Livingston returned to his work on Wed nesday. We desire to thank Henry Brumette for the nice piece of bear steak which he brought in on Tuesday. Mr. Brummette bought and killed the bear owned by C. A. Simpson. The steak was very juicy and tender, and as it had been some time since we have had any bear steak it wa3 very acceptable. Chas. Hein of Mayville was a Condon visitor on Tuesday. While in town Mr. Hein called at this office and presented us with a few rolls of his famous German sausages. Mr. Hein was in the' butcher business in San Francisco for a number of years and one of the things at which he can't be beat is the making of sausages.
