Stinchfield, which were delivered in Condon Wednesday. ' B. F. Pike, Joint Represent ative for this district, was over from Sherman county for a few days this week. The little friends of Miss Elsie Brunzel were entertained at her home on Wednesday evening. The occasion was Miss Elsie's birthday. Dan McDougal is working at Jackson's confectionery this week. Mr. Jackson is spending the week with his family visiting in Portland. Frank Hollen of Pine Ridge is staying with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hawes, and attending night' school. S. B. Barker came up from Portland Saturday where he has been visiting with his family dur ing the holidays. He says it seems good to get back to Con don after being in Portland where it rained every day. Jamieson & Marshall have moved into the old Dunn' building on South Main street, their for mer place of business having been rented to the Catholic 'School. If you are in need of plumbing or any kind of work in their line, they will attend to it at once if you leave your orders at their new place of business. ' County Surveyor McMorris started this week on plats of ev ery town in the county. These will be up-to-date and absolutely correct in every way and will prove very useful. E. P. Mahaffey left Thursday morning for Portland where Mrs. Mahaffey is now visiting and together they will visit at different places in Western Ore gon for a month. ' Tom Boyd takes Mr. Mahaffey's place as conductor on the local branch. J. N. Cox left yesterday morn ing for Echo for a few days' visit with his daughter, Mrs. Fred Collins. The Misses Florence and Marie Thompson who have spent the summer and fall in Gilliam county, left yesterday morning for their home in Brownsville, Ore., where they, will remain through the winter.
