Tbe Ladles' Aid Society of Mayvllle, gave a very successful entertainment at that place last Friday evening. A large eowd wae present the ball being packec to Its utmost capacity. Tbe highly en tertaining drama "Joslah'i Courtship" was excellently rendered by local talent the acts being Interspersed with good music by the Mayvllle Cornet Band. An excellent recitation was given by tbe little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Town send and some floe acrolmtic specialties by Fred Edwards audited by Jtle brother Bert. After tbe drama a substantial and appetising lunch was served and then the floor was cleared for dancing which lasted ontil a late hoar. The pro ceeds of the evening amounted to over $50 which will be used for providing sub stantial steps to the church. The La dies' Aid and those who assisted are to be congratulated on the high degree of socceee attained. Nearly 20 people at tended from this place and all enjoyed the occasion to the utmost. Stillwell which wai to have come op fop preliminary hearing in Justice Angell'i court at Mayvllle Monday, the case wai dismissed in that court and a new complaint made and warrant issued from the circnit court.
