Plentiful ' and tempting viands graced the tables at t ie Grange '.'in ner Wednesday night and the large crowd in attendance testified b;- their satisfied looks 'and words of praise to the excellence of the service and the liberality of the providers. Beaverton Grange realized $44.70 toward the liquidation of the encum brance on their property due to the paving, at this their first of a series of dinners and entertainments plaa.iea to meet me cost ox tne improvement. The prayram which followed the dinner was a tribute to the talented people of the community numbered among the members and friends of t.e Grange. Mr. Bettendorf, a young man of Uhitford who appeared before a Beaverton andience for the ffflst time, has a very pleasing voice of bell-like clearness and enunciates his tones especially well. TOOK PART IN ' PORTLAND RECITAL MisB Edna Hccken, of Beaverton, was one of the particpants in a re cital held at Lincoln high school au ditorium Saturday evening. Miss Hocken is a talented young lady;ho is a pleasing entertainer, sings well and plays charmingly. . BUDGET MEETING TUESDAY . Leonard honored her birthday Mon day evening with a surprise for her. Wilson, who has been in Em manuel Hospital four weeks, was brought home Wednesday. He is im proving rapidly and will soon be able to be out again. Owing to the bad roads Mr. Wilson was detained at the i hospital longer, than at first antici pated and finally through the efforts (of F. H. This is Thanksgiving eve and the spirit of the day will be much in evidence at the hop. SORRENTO CLUB MET WITH MR. AND MR. McKELL ' The Sorento Card Club spent a very pleasant evening with Mr. and Mrs. W. C. McKell last Saturday evening. The usual program of Five Hundred was carried out ano refreshments were served.
