An attempt was also made to enter the safe but the robberies were evidently fright ened away before the attempt was completed." The Cady-Pegg warehouse was also broken into but nothing was removed, and it h thought that the men were searching for material to muffle the postoffice safe with. ; The packages opened were insured but at this - writing the exact value missing is hot known. The authorities are working on the case. :.' - . ' Man Hit by Train. Early; Monday morning a man giving his name as Chas. Ander son was struck by the eastbound Southern Pacific train and 'badly bruised about the head and side. The ribs on the left side were badly caved in and he was un conscious for some time following the accident. Little could be ob tained from him concerning his home and at last reports he was still in a dazed condition. He is now lyingdn a Portland hospital where he was removed for treat ment and he is expected to re cover. The Ruth- Realty . Co. has filed injunction proceedings to stop the sale of certain hey which is held in a Forest Grove ware house by N. B. La Course who has advertised the hay for sale to satisfy a mortgage which he holds. The plaintiff holds that the defendant has no right to the -product. The case was ordered dismissed by the court as the parties had settled their dfficul- ties.': " ' "' V '.- :'' Charles Jasperson received $24 from the state accident commis sion, for his injury received at the Christensen rock cruBher last fall. He reports a big crowd and fair, prices for articles sold. High School Notes.' Mr. S. H. Davis was a welcome visitor at the school one day last week. We wish more of the parents and taxpayers would be interested enough in the school to visit it once in a while. Edith Weed's cheery smile was missed from school on Monday. The Bea verton quintet were handicapped by having two of their regular players on the sick list.
