Mr. and Mrs. Jap Harden were up last week from their farm near Helix and visited with relatives here. They were accompauied home by Mr. and Mrs. Cbester MoCollough. The spring-iike weather during the fore part of the week was an incentive for carrying on farm work. E. A. Dudley, Sam Dnnlap and others had teams in the field plowing. Tbe horse bad teen purchased by Claud Estes. who iu turn disposed of tbe animal to Bert Warren. A young man, claiming to be in a hypnotio state traced the horse and was given the $25 reward by Mr. MoCraoken. The ycung fellow said before he started out to hunt tbe horse, be had been hypnotized by bis father, and working under mesmeric influence, he found no trouble iu looating tbe animal. Friends of Mrs. E. Manasse in this oity, and they are many, learn with regret of tbe sudden death recently in a hospital in San Francisco of her sister, Mrs. Lenz, Mrs. Lenz, with her husband and daughter, were visit ors in Athena a year or two ago, and by ber graoious personality the lady made many friends while here.
