Scott, who received his "sheepskin" along with the rest of a class of 810. Items in Brief. GRAND JURY IN SESSION. Circuit Court Convened Monday Dock et Is Light. The June term of the circuit oourt for Umatilla county was convened by Judge Ellis Monday. The first busi ness of the court was the drawing of a Brand jury.at tbe request of tbe dis trict attorney. This jury, upon whom will fall tbe duty of examining all al leged breeches of tbe law in this coun ty during the past few months is com posed of the following citizens of the county: " Dave Horn foreman , A. B. Mc Carthy, Ed Greezcs, J. A. Badley, Tom J. Tweedy, William Potts, Man uel Friedly. ; The session of the court will be a short one, for although the jail is now filled with prisoners, most of them are serving sentenoes, while some have pleaded guilty and are simply awaiting sentence. . It is rumored that one of the chief duties of tbe grand jury will be to in vestigate charges against a number of saloon men. It is alleged that some having been seling liquor to minors, while others have been charged with various Similiar offenses. S-Mis.
