Allen of Marshfield, who represents a number of Portland wholesale houses, was in Bandon yes terday calling on . his customers. F. MaGill,. died at their home on Elmlra avonuj yes terday morning as tho result of an an operation for tonsilitis. The funeral was held today. John C. Kendall, who is in the Jaw business with John D. Goss of Marsh field. is in the city today on his re turn trip from Curry county where he has been, looking after legal bus iness. ,Mrs. T. J. Perkins who has. been ill, at the home of her daughter for a week or en days, is now improving slowly, but owing to her advanced nge the progress is not as rapid as it might be. The base ball meeting which was to have been held at the Commercial Slub hall last night was not very ell attended owing to the fact that there were several' other attractions n own. A rousing base ball meet ing will be held in the near future. ' Dr. I. L. Schoficld has returned from a two weeks'' professional visit fo Weddcrburn and Gold Beach and s spending a week' at the Knapp ho tel attending to tho wants of his pa irons in this neighborhood. The Dr. who is located at Bandon, is a first- class dentist, and it is his intention to make 'periodical visits each year ha far south as' Rbguo River. Port prford Tribune. , High officials of the Odd Fellows lodge will be in Bandon March 25 to visit tho local lodge, and it is also expected that the Coquille anci Myrtle Point lodges will also come down on that day. Tho local I. O. O. F. or der is planning a great reception for them. Among the features now be ing planned is n fine banquet which will be prepared by tho Rebekahs. On the night of February 27th burglars broke into tho store of Frank McMullen at Langlois and stole about thirty dollars worth of groceries. Tho putty was cut out so that tho bolts in a back window could bo reached, and the store was entered in this manner. A resident of Langlois com plains that several happenings some what similar to this have not been published in tho Leader, evently on account of tho reputation of the town nnd odds that for tho good of tho community he believes that such things should Iks mado public.
