If the pic tures have a story to tell. At our house, we do it this way. First. I pick two “ story” ideas—one for Ann to be the model, another for Jack. Then I Jot down notes for six or eight pictures that will tetl each story— pickiug the high spots, of course. To decide which story shaV. be pictured first, we toss a coin. If Ann wins, it’s her story and she is the model, while Jack and I take the pictures. Actually. I suppose. I do most of it— placing the lights, setting the camera, and so on— but I try to let Jack feel that he’s real ly the “ director.” W e tell Ann what to do, for each shot— and usually the whole picture series is made in a short time. IT has been said by some o f our radical lcionncrs that adver tising misleads the p u b lic Such accusations fall under their own weight. The poorest place in the world to attempt a lie is in t! advertising columns o f American newspapers and magazine and in American radio programs. In the first place, our publishers and broadcasting companic w ouldn’t carry dishonest advertising. They outlawed it long ago. In the second place, such efforts to mislead would be con ducted in full view o f the public and o f the officials empowered to apply fraud laws.
