For several moments he circled over the city, seeking to get hts bearings sufficiently to enable him to descend to the field. Finding his efforts useless, he was forced to land in a Beaverton field, in order to insure the safty o f ills cargo. Fortunately, there was little delay experienced in getting the mail to Portland. Owing to the lit tle activity during the day. this was the only mishap reported. i The turkey’ dinner and bazaar given by the Bethel Ladies' Aid on last Friday evening was a decided success. In fact it was one of the most prosperous dinners they have given in three years. The dinner was served to over 240 people. A delightful entertainment was given after the dinner. MEETING INTERESTS Brother and Sister Furnish Music For Entertainment of Members What is said ta have been one of the most interesting and enthusias tic gatherings held in the Tualatin Valley in year« gathered at the Ra leigh school house Tuesday evening of this week under the auspices of the newly formed federation of clubs known as the United Westaide Club*. Representatives from forty- two communities were present, com munities scattered from Hillsboro which waa represented by Attorney McAlear, to Portland and from W il- tonville on the south to Linnton on the north. The Greenwsld orchestra from Reedrille supplied the music, w.th Mr. Greenwsld drums, Mrs. Green- wald, pianist and Mr. Olson, violin ist. Hon. Milton A. Miller spoke abcut the new “ Super highway” project, that road which is to bring tho capital of the state and the metro polis o f the state closer by a num ber of milea as well as when mea sured in minutes.
