There is a law in thi* *tat*. which w b * passed by the last le gislature, making it necessary foi liny automobile club to put up * bond with the Insurance Commis of worthless check* issued by the to their honesty and businc»* Inte grity bef«»re they can operate. Thi United States Automobile Serv'ce Club, however, secured an Injunc tion. preventing the Insurance Com missioner from enforcing the get. It ' m quite possible that this injunc tion hedlssotved at any time, and If the club i* not then able to com ply to the provision* of the act. Flow o f Springs, 240,000 gallons in 24 hours. I f all o f water is used would supply town of 3500 people. Cost 3000 feet o f 4-inch iron pipe from Springs to reservoir, buried 26 inches deep (pipe, 65<* a foot, laying 28^ a foot, total 93tf a foot) to tal fo r 8000 feet ....................................... $2,790.0c Pump ............................................................... 750.01 Pump House and installation ...................... 500.0* Emergency fund ................................ 500.00 Total to get water in reservoir ......................... $4530.0* For the above there would be a bill fo r power each month estimated at above $75 and water engineer es .¡mated at $125 a month. The water users have certain riparian rights as giv n under W ater Code Section 7091 Oregon Laws rhese rights would have to be satisfied. The com nittoe, in order to determine to what extent the far ners were using the watdr from the above name •Springs made two excursions on August 16 and Au ^ust 17, 1928, from the Spring» to the trestle on the Oregon Electric railroad tracks, a di»tance o f somt hree miles. It wa» estimated about one hundred ac res were being irrigated by the Springs. Either a direct purchase o f the land or condemna tion proceedings seem to l»e the only apparent wayt or scouring use o f the Springs fo r the city.
