A HAPPY NEW YEAR Methodist Church Notes Is the Morning Topic At the SUNDAY SCHOOL Peter preaches at Pentecost. Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2: 21. For th» next three months, we | are to continue our course of studies in the lives of Peter and John, as related to the Apostolic ■ Church. P eter was the leader in the first great revival m eet-1 ing. \\-e are beginning another new year. Our life is a direct gift of I God. Like pearly beads our blessings are strung upon t h e ' cord of time. What better rec ognition of his mercy can we make, than to dedicate ourselves anew to his service. We are liv- ing in a fast age, filled with doubt and misgiving. Greed and selfishness are at the • bottom of many troubles. May we take the corrective step by resolving and carrying out, each one, thai we will place the interests of the other fellow at par with our own. The best of all resolutions is to be more Christlike and to live a truer, purer and larger life henceforth in his name. The missionary society will meet Friday p m with Mrs Quick. The lesson will be in cha ge of Mrs Gardner. The King’s Heralds will meet at the home of Melba Neal next Saturday at 2 p m. The old year with all its many mistakes is gone; the new with all its possibilities is here; it will be just what we make it: should we not therefore start by being more concerned about the things of the kingdom of Heaven? The Church of Christ with its various societies exists for the purpose of enlightening a dar kened world. As a congregation we want to do all in our power to advance the knowledge of Christ among the people of this community. The lessons in the Bible school for the next few weeks deal with the fundamentals of the Christian faith, and a careful study will reveal the fact that the religion of Christ is the solu tion to all the problems that be- | set us. Members, let us be more faith ful during 1920. Friends, may we count upon your continued co-operation in j this work?
