The sidelines were filled by Illinois Valley people who were disappointed a t the loss of the game, but astounded by the action and superb playing abil ity of both team s. The team went to Glendale W ednesday and will play here again sometime a fte r Christm as. At this time, the American Le gion is thinking of good will to ward man and hoping for peace on earth. The Valley is faring well and even the kids are for tunately happy while aw aiting S anta Claus to come to Cave Ju n c tion this year. Scout Party Canceled The Christm as program for the Jam es Boy’s Home given by Girl Scout Troops 88 and 92 had to be cancelled due to illness at the home. However, the girls are sending a Christm as tre a t to the boys with a promise of a program at a later date. Monthly eports were given and accepted and the by-laws read by Mrs. Thelma Lundquist. The report on the carnival and lie social held last month for the Christm as fund and the lunch room showed a net of three hun dred and sixty-seven dollars. The school will give their an nual Christm as program with treats fo r the children December 21. They plan to hold it a t the church. The parents will m eet December 20 to sack the candy and decorate the tree and all par ents are incited to help. Mr. and Mrs. Jacobson and Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Allen are new members. R efreshm ents were served. The turkey shoot held last Sun day sponsored by the V eterans of Foreign W ars was a real success both financially and socially. Thanks are due the orderly crowd of sportsm en and women who attended and apparently en joyed themselves. Remarkable skill was shown by the many m arksm en who took home the turkeys. V isiting gun club members gave our local dead-shots some real com petition but the Valley can be prowd of the scores won by our own riflem en. All new members will be cordially welcomed. The Legion auxiliary will handle the canteen service for the mobile blood bank unit which is being formed in the Valley.
