The gold watch sto'en from Harry Newell at the freight depot last Monday night has been recovered by the owner as the result of a news item regarding theft, printed In the Courier last week. The watch was taken by Lloyd Parker, so it Is alleg ed, while Harry Newwel was absent from the freight depot. The watch was left on the desk and the light in the hoom showed the time piece up to good advantage to Parker, who was on the outside and raised the window to get It. Par ker took the watch to Adam Wlmer. who conducts a confectionery store on South Sixth street and tried to sell it. Mr. Wlmer read In The Cour ier of the theft of Mr. Newell'a vatch and Immediately Informed him of the one offered fr sale. Sun day evening young Lloyd Parker, age 16, and George McClung, age 15, were taken to the state reform school at Salem and on Monday Mar shall John Banfleld went to Parker's home, got the watch and took it to Harry Newell for identification, and the young man Is now In possession of his property.
