STOLEN WATCH RECOVERED.
The gold watch sto'en from Harry
Newell at the freight depot last
Monday night has been recovered by
the owner as the result of a news
item regarding theft, printed In the
Courier last week. The watch was
taken by Lloyd Parker, so it Is alleg
ed, while Harry Newwel was absent
from the freight depot.
The watch was left on the desk
and the light in the hoom showed
the time piece up to good advantage
to Parker, who was on the outside
and raised the window to get It. Par
ker took the watch to Adam Wlmer.

commission, and while at work on
that board Attorney Roames put tha
matter of the soundness of the lav

unanimous opinion was that tha
.counties of Oregon could proceed le

ample authority to call elections for
such purposos,
