'The Southern Pacific railroad passes 'directly through the town and on It I .southern border runs the bright and beautiful stream known as the 'Rogue river. The city proper has a population of about six thousand1 i progressive ci.i.ens. Schools and land churches are numerous enough ' !to meet the wants of the community. !A recent movement has been started j j to make flrants Pass the "city beau- itlful" and to this end a strong or-: ! The present year they entered into an arrange ment to furnish the citizens at half price, roses and other flowering plants. This turned out to be a very successful movement and It is ex pected that it will be continued from year to year. There are two parks near the depot which these ladies are now planting with shrubs, tics and flowers and when these are com pleted they will add an Important feature to the down-town s-ction of the city.
