There will be two dinner times at 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. Dinner includes beef and chicken enchiladas, beans, rice, chips and salsa and flan for dessert. The cost is $15 per person. Monday, Nov. 18 Umatilla National Forest open house • 5-7 p.m., North Fork John Day Ranger District, Ukiah Umatilla National Forest Supervisor Eric Waltrud will lead a series of open houses to provide opportunities for community members to share information about their inter- ests and engage with local forest leadership staff. Local dis- trict staff will also be available to talk about forest manage- ment, current and ongoing projects and other interests and concerns. Halloween activities abound in Grant County Blue Mountain Eagle A host of Halloween activities are taking place around the county. A Kids Party will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, at the John Day Elks Lodge with a costume contest, games, laser tag and food. A donation of nonper- ishable food for local food banks is appreciated. On Halloween, Oct. 31, several events are planned. Get spooked at a haunted house at 6 p.m. at the Can- yon City Community Hall. Canyon City Fire Depart- ment, hosting the event, and Grant County Search and Rescue will hand out candy. A Trunk or Treat will be held at the Grant Union Junior-Senior High School parking lot from 6:30- 8:30 p.m. People are invited to decorate their vehi- cles from 5:30-6:30 p.m. There will be a prize for the best-decorated car. The activity is sponsored by Humbolt Elementary PTA. A Teen Party for ages 13 and up will be held from 7-9 p.m. at the John Day Elks Lodge with a cos- tume contest, games, laser tag and food and music.
