The proposed action includes watershed, fisheries, upland, and unique habitat restoration; hazardous fuels buffer treatments; prescribed burning; road activities; road system changes; and recreation developments within the approximately 78,000-acre planning area. The overall purpose of the project is to foster forest and aquatic ecosystems resilient to a changing environment, and to promote healthy watershed function and process. The planning area is located approximately 9 miles northeast of Prairie City, Oregon in the Bridge Creek – Middle Fork John Day watershed, and the headwaters of the Middle Fork John Day River.
