Mile of open road in the subwatersheds would be reduced by 6% in the Proposed Action, and 8% in Alternative 3 of current levels in order to address resource issues and meet Forest Plan road density standards. The Dove Project area is 43,892 acres and is located within the Upper South Fork John Day River watershed. The major drainages in the project area are the Lonesome, Venator, and Corral Creeks, and the Headwaters South Fork John Day River. Malheur National Forest Supervisor Steve Beverlin is the Responsible Oicial for this project.
