The platforms of the several can dida'es for the presidency are now 'before the American people, and t-e as voters must jar ourselves loose from the belief that either the republican, democrat, independent, prohibitionist or socialist candidate couM place into effect the multi pliil tenets of bis political platform, should he be elected, and get a glimpse of the real personality coucfeed behind the respective party platforms. It is the man who counts in the race of life. Yes, we will venture a step farther and say that it is brains, character and manhood cry&talt2ed into a specialist who works most efficiently and mightily in the great world movements of tcxUy; and if our proposition is cor rect h follows that the safest plat form i the man best qualified to discharge the duties incumbent up on him should he be elected to the presidency of this great nation. Probably each of the candidates aspiring to this high office is a ' good, clean, honest, upright man in the every day walks of life; but this is not the only question to factor in the solution of the presidential problem. We should ask ourselves fie (fiiestion, who to best qualified t rii charge the particular national kind international duties that de volve upon the iucumbent of this high "fiice?
