Is back again at her post in the Dundee schools. E. P. Diment, the clerk of our echool district, underwent an opera tion for ulcer of the duodenum laat week in a Portland hospital. He Is reported to be getting along ao well that he will be able to come home next week. A meeting of the parent-teachers' will be held at the school house on the first Tuesday in April at 3:20 p. m. The discussions of current topics In the school world should be of in terest to every person In the district and your attendance is urged. Dundee friends of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Steele of Carlton will be pleased to hear that a boy has come to their home. The five little slaters are sharing the parents' joy and so are Mra. Steele’s brother and slater- in-law, Mr. and Mrs. William Wilson of Dundee. What will be Dundee’s lose la to be Sunnycreat’s gain, and Sunnycrest is not raally out of the neighborhood anyway, so we are not actually los ing W. R. Dllllnger and family when they move the first of the month. Rhinehard Groth and family will move into the Allen Fruit company house at the west drier, vacated by Mr. Dllllnger. This is the time to plan war on the destructive squirrels and gophers. Frank Keyes and E. S. Greer are do ing their bit by eliminating a line fence and the tangle of poison oak which has been a safe refuge for the pests. The walnut industry is suf fering every year by the depreda tions of these animals and a state wide campaign is on for their de struction. A meeting of the Dundee Memorial Park association was held at the li brary on Friday evening. Outstand ing bills were ordered paid and plans for the spring work formulated. It was decided to have a "park bee” when the weather permits, the men to be ready for work and the women to have a picnic dinner ready at noon. Every clttsen of Dundee Is asked to have the occasion In mind, and plan the spring work In such a manner that he and ahe can give the day to beautifying the spot Dundee has set aside In loving tribute to our boys, who represented this district In service to their country in Its time of need. Once more Dundee has shown her patriotism and loyalty to ideals as well as her appreciation of the Amer ican Legion and all it stands for by the splendid way in which she has responded to the appeal for help In financing the Newberg community building which the boys are sponsor ing. If every nearby community will do as well per capita aa we have done the building will be assured. (Continued on page 10.)
