Newberg easily defeated Pend leton. who claimed the eastern Oregon championship, by a score of 26 -20 . Every man on tbe Newberg team played the game for all there was in it. Claude Larkin and John Larkin being picked as the all round players. In the evening game Silverton defeated NewttCfg' in the final game. Silverton w a s f r e s h , having the whole day to rest up in, while the Newberg team was tired out from tbe game played just a tew hours before. We feel confident that Silverton would have been defeated by a larger score than Pendleton if they had been played in their stead. The boys showed remarkable endurance playing hard and fast. Motschenbacher and Brunton played a star game to the finish. The Newberg team was tbe favorite all the way through. Even if they did not win tbe championship, the fact that they showed a great many that New berg w as on the map was suf- ficent.
