W hen the blood is pure, Iresh and healthy, the skin will be soft, smooth
and free from blemishes, but when come acid humor takes root in the circu­

T H E CHANCE CAME.
Several years before the discovery of
oil at PI thole an Irishman named Mc­
Carthy and bis son Dan cams to this
country from the Emerald Isle. Dan
was a young man o f twenty, but hla
father looked upon him as a mere boy
and seemed to take delight In ridicul­
ing him before people.

This was his stock witticism, and It
annoyed Dan very much, but ho did
