The News says it is 41 feet in
circumference, 13% feet in diam-
eter and contains enough lumber

funds to have the tree cut and
transported to the fair as an a t­
traction. It is a shame to tell
such a monarch o f the forest
and the Graphic would oppose
such a movement if the tree
stood near Newberg. Such a
live hero pointing skyward for
ages yet to come, w ill be w orth
more to Forest Grove than a
fallen one laid low to lie gazed
upon for a few short weeks a t
he Lewis and Clark
Fair.
