VALLEY RECORD THE WEEK IN CONGRESS. SENATE. The People’s Paper Tueeday, June 13. ASHLAND, Or... .Thursday, June 21,1891 They are doing Col. Breckenridge hard for his re-nomination. But we observe that all his opponents up to date are no sooner avowed candidates than they are put on the rack of defense for the same weaknesses the Colonel was found guilty of. It is rumored in Washington, D. C., that Congressman Hermann will be a candidate for U. S. senator. Binger need not bother himself. If Dolph is not his own successor the senatorship will not stray any further than the Hon. Joseph Simon. Third-party men should see the folly of attempting to keep up a political or ganization. They are just wasting their time and throwing away their votes. Democrats and prohibitionists should lay aside their foolishness and unite with a powerful organization like the popu lists.— Pendleton Alliance Herald. The charges against Mr. Wiman were both for forgery in the second degree. In each there were two counts, the first charging the forgery and the second ut tering the forgery. The first indictment charged him with forging the name of E. W. Bullinger on a $5,000 check drawn by the cashier of R. G. Dun & Co., by direction of of Mr. Wiman, to the order of Mr. Bullinger.
