An alarm o f fire a t 7:S0 Sunday evening called out the department and a crowd o f volunteers in short order. The alarm was a fa lse one, however. Smoke was seen issuing from the doors and windows o f M a sonic H all which seemed to indicate fire, but it was only the fum igation o f the hall where tw enty pounds o f sulphur w ere burning. D octor Richmond had forbidden the opening o f the hall to public m eetings until it had been fum igated, which caused the postponement o f the basket ball gam e -Saturday night. H e has also closed the Scenic -nd churches to children under 16 years o f age until the danger o f an epidem ic o f scarlet fe v e r is past. He also intends to quarantine against Marsh field to the extent o f forbidding all children under 16 to come over here from there, i f it is possible. Moose Initiate Big Class.
