Unemployment for this area of Coos, Curry and Western Douglas BUILD for Happiness BUILD a NEW HOME- Fresh - Large - Fancy CRANBERRIES it 19c CANNED CRANBERRY Counties, rose to an estimated 2020, including 490 women, and 508 veterans. Almost 750 new claims for unemployment were filed during November, although the totals were kept down to some extent by a number returning to work or finding other jobs, while a growing number have already drawn their maximum benefits, or found not eligible due to lack of sufficient earnings during their base year employment of 1948. Reedsport and Myrtle Point again this year, continue to be relative ly high spots of unemployment due to the lumber industry. This may be due to the small size of sawmill and logging operations, long hauls affected by the weath er and altitude, and limited mark et fo r logs and rough lumber in the vicinity. ■ Job openings are needed now, to be listed by this office for the benefit of job seekers. We have on file, the complete work hi»; tories and qualifications of al most every type of applicant; sawmill and logging worker, salespersons, general laborers, bookkeepers; skilled, semi-skilled, clerical and professional; men, women and teenagers.
