Claude Banning, of Roeeburg, vis ited at the Frank Fish home Thurs day. Mr. Banning was a neighbor of the Fish family when a small boy. He went to South America with his folks when a child and later returned to the U. S. At present he is man ager of the Farm Bureau Exchange at Roeeburg and Salem. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Woudward and son, Gerald, spent the week-end here on business. They are living at Elk ton at present. David Root drove to Grants Pass Friday, taking with him his father, J. S. Root, of Grenada, Calif., and his sister, Mrs. Naomi Robison, who is returning home with her father for an indefinite stay. They were met at Grants Paas by another son, bam Root, and David returned home the name day. Frank Miller spent the week-end here with his family. He is driving trucks on the road at Waldport. A number of the men of the com munity spent Saturday working at clearing the grove on the northwest comer of the J. D. Carl ranch, and with a little more work the grove will be ready for church services when the weather is suitable.
