Jlurd from the Ohio Conference as Probationer. The next annual session of the Con ference will convene In Cnrvnllia the second Thursday in April I'JOl. Com in u n ications concerning the Key stone League of Christian Endeavor ami Anli Maloon League were refer rel to their resiective coinn it tees. The annua! report of the Presiding Elder was full of hope and good cheer and showed the Conference baa en joyed a very prosiieroua year. The President of 1j Fayette Hemlnary read his report which was referred to the committee on educatior. It was a careful review of the last year's work at our school and was replete with suggestions as to how we might increase our usefulness along that line. License to preach was granted to Prof. A. F. Ititiner and Messrs. Win Plowman and Lynn (Jubser. The committee on Bible Confer ence and La Fayette Hemlnary Coin iiieucement exercises submitted their reports. Bishop Dubs touchingly presented the ned or our new Foreign mission which has been established In Han nan, China. This is the llrst foreign mission of (be United Evangelical church. Our first missionaties are lt'v. C. N. Diitm and wife and Ilev. A. W. Mell and wife. Brother C. N. Dubs is the eldest son of Bishop 11. Dubs and up to his appointment as missionary was the editor of the Zi'ilschrell; the Herman organ of our church. We bid God seed to these servants of lod as they go out to carry the banner of King Jesus to those In heathen darkuess attempt ing to lead them Into the light of the gosis'l. After various committee reports the Conference adjourned subject to thecal) of the chair, A prospeious year for the denomination has just closed. There were 278 conversions and a net ehIii In membership of 137. Sunday was a glorious day (for the Conference. At Ihno a. m. Ilev. 8. J. Lindsay conducted a love Feast which was a veritable "feast of fat things" to all who were in atten dance. At 10:30 HiHhop Dulxi preached from Ht. John 17 1. It was a master ful address and all felt the itency of the Bishop's earnest word's ad he spoke, to us. After the aermon the Ijord s supper was administered In which 121 s-rsons participated. In the afternoon a missionary meeting was held at which lime sub scriptions and cash were received for our Home Missionary Society amounting to 7(! 00 in the evening Ilev. Ouy Phelps preached.
