Mrs. Brown accompanied at the piano. Cherryville school closes Friday night, with a program at the school, after which a dance will be held in the play shed. Music will be im ported from the city by Mowritz Pet erson, o f the Clipper Inn. Neal L. Horr and R. W. Mallery will leave on Saturday or Sunday for Montana, where the former will join his wife and baby, and Mr. Mallery will go on to Minnesota to visit. Mr. and Mrs. Lex Schmitz brought little Dean home from the hospital Saturday. He is doing nicely but is still weak, after two mastoid opera- t ions. Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Proctor drove to Eugene on Friday, to be with Ken on Mother’s Day, at the university. Mrs. C. O. Duke’s brother, Cal Col lier, was here to spend the week-end. TW O STAGE PLAYERS B R E A K INTO THE M OVIES Bernard Gorcey and Ida Kramer, creators o f the roles o f Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Cohen in the original stage pro duction o f Anne Nichols’ “ Abie's Irish Rose,” and who appeared in ev ery performance given on Broadway for over five and one-half years, in the sensational run o f the play, were given their original parts in the film version of the Nichols’ success. The play was transplanted to the screen by Paramount and will be the feature attraction at the Liberty Theatre, Es tacada, on Sunday and Monday, May 19 and 20. Most o f the comedy action is built around this pair. They handle their rules in the same characteristic man ner that won them so much praise during the Broadway run. Neither had appeared in motion pictures be fore. Screen fans are certain to re ceive them favorably.
